PNG’s famous local artist and music legend Robert Oeka was knighted recently for his contributions to the PNG and Pacific music industry. Mr. Oeka who hails from Gulf Province received his knighthood from PNG Governor General Sir Bob Dadae in Kerema town on the September 15th, 2018.
“I am happy for this recognition and this is the pinnacle of my music career,” Mr. Oeka lamented.
Robert’s only regret in the music career was that local musicians like himself did not make enough money to support themselves and their families.
He said he has no intention of going back to the music industry after he left in 2008. – Via Garamut News.
